About Us
RFK
Royal Family Kids Camp of Fox Valley is a one week camp specifically for children of elementary school age who have experienced abuse or neglect who are living in foster care or at risk homes in our community. Each year we rent a beautiful camp in Wisconsin for the week. With a ratio of no more than two kids per counselor, we provide the children with a week filled with positive memories and introduce them to a God that knows their name.
Shining Stars
Shining Stars is the camp for middle school children who have attended Royal Family Kids Camp of Fox Valley. Held two weekends a year at a local campground, activities include movies, swimming, team building games, and outdoor fun. Each weekend features a speaker who reaches out to the campers with a message of hope and God’s love. Campers will know each other and many of the adult staff from their time at Royal Family Kids Camp. Shining Stars continues the ministry of creating positive memories for our campers.
The Summit
The Summit is an adventure camp specifically designed for the campers from Royal Family Kids and Shining Stars who have grown up and are now high school students. Each summer, we travel to a fun and exciting camp in Wisconsin where we participate in various activities such as rock climbing, high/low ropes courses, and canoeing down the Wisconsin river. This is a fantastic camp that eliminates distraction from electronics and everyday life to help focus on growing closer to each other and making positive memories.

Same Heart, New Name, Bigger Impact.
We are now For The Children and here’s why.
For 30 years, volunteers, churches, businesses, local municipal partners and Royal Family Kids staff have dedicated their time, talent and treasures to help transform the lives of vulnerable children across the US, and world.
While RFK has formally overseen our camps and mentoring programs, the breadth of our work has evolved far beyond these two programs. Today we provide direct trauma intervention, advocacy, fostering, adoption, support to parents, and other crucial wraparound services.
While we acknowledge the expansion of our work across our 252 chapters, COVID-19 has profoundly increased the needs of children and families. Extreme gaps in fulfilling these needs cannot be overstated.
In order to address the systemic issues surrounding child welfare today, our organization must respond.
Consequently, as of November 2020, Royal Family KIDS, will officially be renamed For The Children. This transition will bring clarity to new opportunities, from providing laptops and shoes to needy children, to assisting overburdened social workers, to providing temporary shelter.
The teaching and example of Jesus in caring for “the least of these” will remain our motivation. As For The Children, we are also eager to focus on the systemic issues facing children, around the globe.
